The Great Debate

Today Friday 19,2010 there was a great debate between our two main candidates. ( Gianna Knuston and Danny Powers.) At the beginning of this debate while Gianna Knuston had one of her posters on the podium Danny was at. He literally rip the poster from the podium and littered by putting the poster on the ground. ( If Danny is to litter who says what other laws he'll break while he's being president(Think about it.). If you guys choose to elect him.) By doing the this the crowd got in a loud uproar and Danny Powers smiled in pride. (He didn't even feel shameful for ripping the poster from the podium and he didn't care he just littered.) While he was smiling, someone with enough sense Kacey Sumter(Gianna's campaign manager) took the liberty of picking up the poster from the ground and placing it else where. The funniest thing is although Danny Powers will deny that he littered, everyone knows he did. After that incident the debate finally started.

The first topic at hand is Gun Control Laws beneath is the resolution.

Resolution: Gun control laws are necessary to prevent crimes.

• In this Gianna Knuston is the affirmative and Danny Powers is the negative. Since Gianna is the affirmative she goes first. Here's what she said:

Gianna Knutson believes gun control laws are necessary to prevent crime. We would not need to worry about guns. If there were no guns there would be no crime. Plus no one will be shooting anyone. So there will be no point in having guns in the first place. Guns should only be allowed in restricted hunting areas.

That was Gianna's statement now Danny will question her & she'll answer.

Danny's Question: Does she want to take guns away from people who pay money and have took their time to register for them? Will that prevent crimes?

Gianna replied yes she'll take guns away from the people who register. Plus she said it'll prevent crime.
Danny's Question: If you take guns is it helping out?
Gianna replied guns can cause fights, no need for you to have one.

Danny's Question: So you're saying everyone can not be allowed to use guns?

Gianna replied police may be allowed to be equipped with guns but shouldn't use it.

Danny's Question: Are you proposing that only the executive branch (the branch that carries out the laws) should also have guns?

Gianna replied yes police may have guns but not the people.

Now Danny's questioning is done. He'll make his statement.

Daniel Powers believes gun control laws are not necessary to prevent crime. If everyone had guns, criminals will be less likely to attack. The only way the criminals will get guns is if they stole(which would be illegal, already putting them in jail). He said taking guns away is taking power from the people and it's going into tyranny like Gianna trying to force us to. It can still be restricted.

• Gianna takes her turn to question him & he'll answer.

Gianna's Question: So you think it will be less likely for the person to attack if they have guns to defend themselves?

Danny replied yes and even so people don't only use guns to defend themselves or attack someone.

• In conclusion, Danny thinks everyone should have the rights to bear arms while Gianna thinks guns should only be given to the police & be allowed in hunting areas.

The next topic was Foreign policy.The resolution for this topic is beneath.
Resolution: A strong military is needed to trade.

In this debate Danny is the affrimative and Gianna is the negative. Danny being the affrimative he goes first.

Danny says he believes a strong military is needed to trade to show the rest of the world we're not weak & we're defenceless.

Gianna disagrees however she thinks that the military is the last resort to turn to. She says we shouldn't scare our enemies forcing them to trade with us. She thinks if there is a problem we should talk it out so they're not scared we might hurt and we get things done better without anyone being terrified.

• After this the candidates questioned each other and argued as well. Then when the debate was finally done the great Commenawealth of Jellyland(The state that heard the election (period 2) voted on the debate. Suprisely enough it was a tie debate. So really there's no telling who will win but on Tuesday 23, 2010 will show all. Winner gets the presidency and loser gets nothing.
